El magnetró és la peça principal de l'aparell, aquesta és la que fabrica les ones que escalfen els aliments. El magnetró pot espatllar-se a causa de diverses raons: posar el microones en buit, introduir metalls durant el funcionament, o algun problema en el circuit d'alimentació elèctrica de la peça.
